Greeting Sisters and Brothers, and all readers and supporters of the Black Star News. Please tune in Tuesday August 31st to the “Black Star News Show” on WBAI 99.5 FM (WBAI.ORG) at 3:00 PM EST, for the Black Star News show’s latest episode where the topic will be: Cameroon Civil Conflict or War of Independence?

Today’s guest, Ms. Yaa Maggie Kilo, who is a Cameroonian U.S.-based activist joins Black Star News Show host Milton Allimadi to discuss the very uncivil war that’s been raging in Cameroon since 2016.

Listen to today’s show here.

Ms. Maggie Kilo argues that the conflict has turned into a war of independence by the English-speaking region of the country which has been dominated and marginalized by the French-speaking region, a legacy of colonial rule.

The country is governed by Paul Biya, 88 years old, a corrupt kleptocrat who has been in power for 39 years with French backing, who spends most of his time out of the country in a Swiss luxury hotel.
