The following piece was written by Ahjamu Khalifah Baruti (Richard Carter), who has been incarcerated for over three decades, after the recent death of his mother Mary Lee Carter born Sept. 3rd 1940 passed Dec. 25th 2021.

The almighty Creator gives life! I being her oldest son I have no say in the affair of when her return back to the Creator will be, so too with my own self.

Inward balance, acceptance that she have made her transition, and allowing myself to grieve are how I deal with the passing of my beloved Mother.

I fully trust in the Creator being the all knowing for him plucking up his beautiful Flower from this earthly existence to bring her back home to be with him. From Allah (God) we come from, and Allah (God) is our ultimate return.

My Beloved Mother was and still is a precious Gift that came from Allah (God), and my three siblings were “Blessed” to come into existence (Life) through her.

In her passing form (transition) we all should present the following questions to ourselves:

(1.) WHO AM I?

(2.) WHAT AM I HERE FOR—-YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE?

(3.) HOW DO YOU VIEW YOURSELF?

Their will always be a “void” in my heart! I’ll always keep her memories in my heart, mind, and spirit that she will continue to live through me. Death is a reminder and opportunity for self-correction. It’s inevitable and something that we tend to not prepare for.

Life is like a book, each year is a chapter in our lives, every day that we live is a page in the book. We don’t know when it will end. We should live our life with a strong sense of urgency, and with a purposeful intent.

One Love, 4-Life,

From a Father, Brother, and a beloved son,

Ahjamu Khalifah Baruti, (government name given by my beloved Mother—-Richard Lee Carter)

Family, send our Brother/Comrade some concerns, love, and deep condolences at the recent loss of his Beloved Goddess Mother whose love, support, and especially the strength of her spirit during while incarcerated inside the “Belly of the Beast” in Michigan since the mid-eighties. It’s easy to put a finger on the level of motivation after being wrongly convicted and to reclaim one’s freedom which continues to rob him, his loved ones, his family the same as it does so many of our people in this the United Snakes and elsewhere.

Real family acts like family.
