Big Slick Fundraising Event 2025 Raises $4.5M | Kansas City Charity Highlights

Big Slick Fundraising Event 2025: On the night of 31 May 2025, a fundraising event, Big Slick, was organized in Kansas City. The event was expected to break its record in the 16th annual charity fest, and it did. Moreover, the series of events made the event worth watching. This fundraiser is hosted by the Children’s Mercy Hospital to accumulate funds for poor children who cannot afford treatment due to financial barriers.

The Children’s Mercy Hospital organizes such events on a mass scale to invite crowds and stars to generate huge funds for the children. This time, approximately 40+ stars, including musicians and athletes, took the stage for 3 hours continuously to raise funds. Moreover, their method did pay off. The public was entertained by their tactics and emptied their pockets at the fundraising event. The event broke its record for fundraising this year by accumulating $4,530,012 in just 3 hours! This huge amount will have a positive impact on the condition of its patients.

What caused such hype on the stage this time? Let’s find out further in this article.

Highlights of the Big Slick fundraising event

A Patrick Mahomes show

On Saturday Night, Patrick Mahomes showed off his football expertise in front of the crowd while they cheered for him. He threw one of the signed footballs, which was kept for raffle prizes, into the crowd. A lucky fan caught it and must be keeping it safe to take it as a souvenir from the event. Mahomes did the same thing for the second ball and drove excitement through the crowds. He has become one of the regular stars who are called for the fundraising drive annually.

Live Music show

Many bands were invited to share a musical evening with the crowd, including the band Perpetual Change, popular singer Jay DeMarcus, Logan Mize, Kendall Marvel, American Idol winners David Cook and Chris Daughtry, Philip Boweb, and Adeev and Ezra Potash.

Can you see the variety of musicians who were among the crowd that night? They indeed made people enjoy the night to the fullest. First came the local band of Kansas, the Perpetual Change who made people groove on songs like ‘My Own Worst Enemy’ and ‘Brain Stew’. They were followed by the popular singer of the song ‘Life is a Highway’, Jay DeMarcus. All the singers in the queue entertained the crowd with perfection. We might call it the best night for the audience.

Kelce Brothers

We know that throughout the throws of the raffle prizes, Jason Kelce tried to get his hands on it. He managed to get one in his hands and wanted to pass it to his brother. Instead, his aim deflected and the ball went toward the crowd where a fan caught it. That was unfortunate but at least he tried.

Fundraiser for Children

We talked about how the night was a banger for the audience. However, let me remind you that this event is a fundraiser for poor children. Its agenda was bigger than just a few performances, which exhilarated the crowd. The authorities shared a story of one of their patient, Peter Vincent, which shifted the energy to a serious discussion. The artists also shared their opinions on this matter and urged the audience to understand the importance of this initiative. The kid was diagnosed with leukemia, which started with a rash and developed into a serious issue. He was treated in the Children’s Mercy Hospital as his family couldn’t afford the high bills of city hospitals.
