Biden And Trump To Clash In First 2024 Presidential Debate

By NBC News

President Joe Biden has just landed in Atlanta, and former President Donald Trump is expected to arrive there later this afternoon, with their first 2024 presidential debate just hours away.

Tonight’s showdown will be the first time the two candidates have clashed on stage since October 2020. The 90-minute debate will feature muted microphones when the other candidate is talking, and there will be no live studio audience.

For Biden, it’s his best chance yet to convince American voters he’s still up to the job amid concerns about his age.

The Biden campaign has signaled he’ll focus on abortion rights and threats to democracy, and could bring up Trump’s recent New York felony conviction.

Trump is expected to hit Biden on the economy and immigration, and has hinted at attacking the president’s son Hunter Biden.

The debate begins tonight at 9 p.m. ET. Here are five things to watch for.
