1. Hit Man
Richard Linklater is the mastermind behind Hit Man, the American romantic comedy movie. On 5th September, at the 80th Venice International Film Festival, Hit Man premiered. On 24th May 2024, Hitman was released in some of the theaters of the United States, and on 7th June 2024, Hit Man hit back at Netflix. The story revolves around a man named Gary Johnson, who is a professor at the University of New Orleans, and also works with the Orleans Police Department in sting operations. It is a true story of a man who used to work for Houston police in the 1980s and 1990s as a duplicate Hitman, as described by Skip Hollandsworth in his article in 2001 magazine.
The story starts with Gary Johnson, who was hired as an undercover detective in Orleans, in the place of Jasper as Jasper is suspended from his job due to his Brutality. After his joining Gary, finds a woman named Madison, who is totally frustrated by her abusive husband named Ray. After that, both Gary and Madison came into a relationship, and Ray got the hint of their relationship and tried all the possible ways to kill her. Later in the story, audiences witness the murder of Ray, and Gary and Madison are living a happy married life.
2. It’s What Inside
An American science fiction comedy horror movie, It’s What’s Inside premiered on 19th January 2024 at the Sundance Film Festival. On 4th October 2024, this movie which was written and directed by Greg Jardin, was released on Netflix. The story opens with a group of friends named Cyrus, Couple Shelby, Reuben, Nikki, Brooke, Maya, and Fobes. It is very interesting to see how a single game changed their life completely.
Reuben was getting married so all these people came to Reuben’s house for a party, just before his marriage. Forbes was their mutual friend who came along with a suitcase to attend a party. The briefcase had a device that allowed the bodies to swap with one another. Forbes forced all of them to play a game with him using the device, and explained to them about the game, as he and his colleague in his office used to play the game of body sweeping. Everyone agreed with Forbes and the game started.

In the first round, Cyrus was in Reuben’s body, Forbes was in Dennis’s body and Maya was in Nikki’s body, but the whole group guessed the incorrect answers. In the second round, Cyrus refuses to be a part of the game but after being forced by friends he agrees, as Forbes announced the second round will be the last round. In the second round, a lot of confusion happened resulting in them ending the game. In the end, when all the people gathered in the house to switch back to their original bodies, the roof of the house’s balcony collapsed. To their shock, Reuben who was in Dennis’s body, and Brooke who was in Maya’s body died. Later the police came to the house and sealed off the device.
3. The Merry Gentlemen
The Merry Gentlemen premiered on Netflix on 20th November 2024. Peter Sullivan is all ready to set this Christmas season on fire with his latest movie, The Merry Gentlemen. The movie opens up in an arts venue, the Rhythm Room, where a dancer is focused on attracting large crowds to bring change in performance during Christmas. A big dancer and choreographer Britt Robertson, her hometown to save her parent’s dream, The Rhythm Room. After coming to hometown she came in contact with Michael Murray who is portraying the role of Luke.
The meeting with the very talented Luke gave her the idea of hosting an event that no one had ever seen in her town. Both Ashley and Luke started to walk together and their friendship grew from here only. The movie was filmed in Santa Clarita and in Los Angeles, California. Filming in Los Angeles was very helpful for the director, as they have taken total advantage of California’s versatile areas and infrastructures, however, they also faced various challenges while shooting a Christmas theme based movie in the summertime as to create a false atmosphere of Christmas including fake snow in all over the exterior shooting sites.
