NEW YORK, NY (March 20, 2025) — Rev. Al Sharpton, Founder and President of the National Action Network (NAN), will convene advocates and surviving family members of victims of police and racial violence on the inaugural day of the 2025 NAN Convention for a candid discussion on the state of the fight for equal justice. New York City Council Member and Exonerated Five member Yusef Salaam will join the discussion set to be led by “Attorney General for Black America” Ben Crump, Esq.

Immediately after his inauguration in January, Trump rescinded a key Biden-era executive order designed to “increase public trust and enhance public safety through equitable, community-oriented policing,” signaling his administration’s radical approach to civil rights. This year’s panel on racial justice titled “From Grief to Action: The Fight for Social Justice Continues” will focus on navigating the treacherous waters of Trump’s second term while remaining committed to the cause of equal justice under the law for all Americans.
