Nashville, TN (May 8, 2024) — Ben Crump, the civil rights lawyer hailed as the Attorney General for Black America, will take part in a discussion with longtime confidant and nationally renowned media strategist Rachel Noerdlinger at CrimeCon on June 2nd. The highly anticipated conversation at the world’s largest gathering for crime experts, professionals and true crime consumers will focus on justice against acts of vigilantism, including the killings of Trayvon Martin and Ahmaud Arbery.

“More than a decade after the killing of Trayvon Martin put acts of vigilantism under the microscope, it remains a stain on our society that we must continue to eradicate,” said Ben Crump, Attorney General for Black America and Founder of Ben Crump Law. “Those who take the law into their own hands as an excuse to kill Black men and women must know there are real consequences. I am glad to take part in this discussion with Rachel Noerdlinger, someone I have spent years alongside on the front lines of this quest for justice, and I want to thank the CrimeCon organizers for facilitating this conversation.”

“Ben Crump and I have been at the vanguard of justice on the most pressing cases before the nation, from Trayvon Martin to George Floyd,” said Rachel Noerdlinger, Equity Partner at Actum LLC. “We have seen these cases move the needle on justice at large, but especially these horrible acts of vigilantism. I’m honored to sit down with him this June at the largest gathering of the true crime community to discuss how we can create a better, fairer system that guarantees justice for those who take the law into their own hands.”

Crump has represented the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless others. In this conversation, moderated by Noerdlinger — the first Black female equity partner in a global public affairs firm and longtime advisor to both Crump and Rev. Al Sharpton — he will recount the courtroom drama of the Arbery and Martin cases, as well as the killings of Markeis McGlockton and Marissa Alexander. The pair will discuss the evidence that went into these cases, the behind-the-scenes work, understanding jurors’ thinking, and communicating the facts in the court of public opinion. Crump will also touch upon how these real cases will be woven into the Beau Lee Cooper Fictional Universe featured in his upcoming debut novel.

The panel will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 2nd — the final day of CrimeCon. The globally heralded event kicks off on Friday, May 31st at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN. For the full agenda, click here
