Baraka And Cornel West Endorse Millions March Against Police Brutality

Dr. Cornel West and Mayor Ras Baraka will announce their support for the Million People’s March Against Police Brutality, Racial Injustice, and Economic Inequality at a press conference today, Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at 12 noon at Bethany Baptist Church, 275 West Market Street in Newark, New Jersey.

The press conference is being called by the People’s Organization For Progress (POP). Dr Cornel West is a prominent philosopher, educator, writer, activist, and internationally known public intellectual. He is the author of 19 books.  Hon. Ras J. Baraka is the Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, the state’s largest city.

Other speakers at the press conference will include Rev. M. William Howard, Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, and Lawrence Hamm, Chairman of the Newark-based People’s Organization For Progress.

The mothers of several victims of police brutality will speak. Community leaders and several elected officials will also speak.
