Baltimore: Institute Of The Black World To Convene Global Conference

BALTIMORE, MD (January 6, 2023) – The Institute of the Black World 21st Century (IBW), led by President Dr. Ron Daniels, will convene a news conference, on Tuesday, January 10th to formally announce and provide a preview of The State of the Black World Conference, scheduled for April 19-23, 2023, in Baltimore.

Organized around the theme Global Africans Rising, Empowerment, Reparations and Healing, a major goal of the 5-day Conference is to strengthen the surging U.S. and global reparation’s movements. Equally important, the Conference will explore strategies and models to effectively address issues of vital concern to Black America and the Pan African world, e.g., the War on Drugs, mass incarceration, gun violence and fratricide, gentrification, environmental justice, climate change, safe, clean and accessible water.

“The State of the Black World Conference promises to be one of the great gatherings of Black people of the 21st Century,” Dr. Ron Daniels said. “Hon: Nana Addo Danka Akufo-Addo, President, Republic of Ghana, Hon: Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados, Hon: Francia Marquez, Vice-President, Colombia and Hon. Dikon Mitchell, Prime Minister, Grenada have been invited and are expected to confirm. Hon. P.J. Patterson, the longest serving Prime Minister of Jamaica and the Caribbean a global statesman has already confirmed,” Dr. Daniels announced. The organizers also expect the who’s who of Black America’s civil rights, human rights, faith, labor, and political leadership to attend.”

The Institute of the Black World’s news conference will be held on Tuesday, January 10th 2023 at 12:00 Noon. It will take place at the Empowerment Temple AME Church, 4217 Primrose Ave., Baltimore, MD. 410.801.8888.
