In 1978, The Jeannette Rankin Foundation awarded one grant in the amount of $500. In 2003, the Jeannette Rankin Foundation awarded 45 grants in the amount of $2,000 each. Award recipients are women age 35 and older who are motivated to change their lives through education. Applicants must meet low-income requirements, be U.S. citizens, and be enrolled or accepted in an accredited school.

Ford Co. Supports Dorothy Height group with $10,000
The Ford Motor Company Fund will present the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW) with a check for $10,000 in support of the Dorothy I. Height Institute’s Leadership Development Program, company officials said. The presentation will take place September 8, during a reception from 6:00-9:00 p.m at The NCNW headquarters, 633 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. in Washington, D.C.
