What Is All American Season 7 About?

A New Beginning for the All-American Franchise

The upcoming season of All American, Season 7, is focused on the teenage rivalries and battles that come with high school football. It will be a return to the initial theme of the show. According to a statement by CW, the new season will reimagine the theme of the earlier seasons while paying attention to a new generation of students dealing with the pressures of sports, relationships, and growing up.

The official synopsis reads:

“It’s the same heart, same NFL dream, same crosstown rivalry, same messy hormones – ushered in by a new generation of L.A. teens, a new Beverly coach, and our OG Vortex fam, who are surprised to find they’re supposed to be the responsible adults now.”

All American Season 7: Who’s Returning?

Even if Daniel Ezra is out of the picture, some old members have agreed to new contracts for Season 7.

  • Michael Evans Behling (Jordan Baker)
  • Greta Onieogou (Layla Keating)
  • Bre-Z (Tamia “Coop” Cooper)

Their return makes sense, considering the Season 6 finale set up major storylines for each of them.

  • Jordan Baker is a football coach at South Crenshaw High now.
  • Layla’s and Jordan’s marriage has brought them to the Baker house.
  • Coop is going to law school, deciding between Yale and GAU.

While these characters remain, the departure of Spencer James, Olivia, and Asher means that the show will have to introduce new leads to carry the story forward.

Which cast members are leaving All American in season 7?

Sadly, many beloved characters are not going to be included as series regulars in season 7. The following actors are not part of the main cast anymore:

  • Daniel Ezra (Spencer James) – Leaving as a full-time cast member but he will come back as a guest star and director in the show.
  • Samantha Logan (Olivia Baker) – is going to make an appearance as a guest in Episode 2.
  • Cody Christian (Asher Adams)
  • Karimah Westbrook (Grace James)
  • Monét Mazur (Laura Baker)
  • Chelsea Tavares (Patience Robinson)

Spencer and Olivia were able to tie the knot and proceeded to head to New York where Spencer would be pursuing a career in professional football, which is what led to them feeling satisfied with their marriage in the season 6 finale.

Even though a few of these characters may return for brief appearances, Season 7 of the show will center on fresh and seasoned high school players.
