Alaska Airlines Grounds Flights After Major IT Outage on Sunday

These posts informed passengers about the inconvenience that the technical outage would cause them until it was fixed. Moreover, they asked their passengers to check their flight status before arriving at the airport, as due to a software outage, their regular operations are disrupted.

It said that the technical issues have been resolved, and the regular operations will be functioning as before. However, the airlines have not clarified the reasons for the software issues on Sunday night.

The ground stop was active for Alaska Airlines, as well as Horizon Air Flights, which was lifted after the issue was resolved. By 11 pm, the airline solved the issues, and guests were requested to check their flight status for further updates. However, the airlines have reassured that the delays will be adjusted as soon as the operations are restored like before.

In the video, the passengers were waiting to board the flight due to delays, and a crew member was apologizing for the inconvenience. According to them, the night was very infuriating for both the passengers and the crew members. They were informed about the delay due to a software malfunction at Alaska Airlines after they landed in Seattle. The passengers were allowed to disembark from their flight at the airport after three hours of no response. 

Moreover, passengers were seen at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, while they were facing issues with their rescheduled flight at the airport. According to CNN, one of the passengers boarded the flight to Indianapolis, but the plane was grounded. Therefore, she had to board another flight after waiting for 3 hours, during which she had to go through 5 gate changes.
