TALLAHASSEE , Fl. — On Tuesday, May 18 at 10:00 a.m. ET, a coalition of voting rights organizations will host a press conference discussing a lawsuit they will file against the state of Florida to block the implementation of Senate Bill 90, Florida’s discriminatory voter suppression law.

The major law creates major obstacles to vote-by-mail, further limits voter assistance at the polls, and criminalizes line warming activities.

During the press conference, a diverse coalition of Black and Latinx civic engagement organizations will detail how the new law harms Black and Brown communities and intentionally makes it harder for voters of color to cast a ballot. The legal team for the plaintiffs including Advancement Project National Office, Demos, and LatinoJustice PRLDEF will explain the claims of the legal complaint and detail how the law will prevent communities of color, seniors, people with disabilities and low-income Floridians from exercising their fundamental right to vote.
