OCTOBER 29, 2024 (Washington, D.C.) – Jotaka Eaddy, founder of Win With Black Women, the organization that has mobilized a groundswell of support behind Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, released the below statement in response to the candidate’s closing argument in this historic election:
“Vice President Kamala Harris’ final campaign remarks tonight underscored the promise she has made to millions of Americans: that under her presidency, we will have more opportunities for success, better health and financial security, protections against corporate greed, and a brighter and more equitable future. Vice President Harris will preserve our democracy. And simply put, a victory for Donald Trump, who sat idly while our nation’s capital faced an insurrection, is not an option.
“In one week, our country will venture down one of two paths. Either we move backward to an era where we have fewer rights than our parents or our grandparents under a leader who has come to embody blatant, reprehensible racism and sexism. Or, we march toward a new dawn with an experienced leader who values and listens to all Americans, no matter their race, gender, creed, or circumstance.
“We implore voters to do what is right and cast their vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Join us in ushering in the future – and freedom – envisioned by our mothers, grandmothers, and generations of women who came before us.”
Win With Black Women volunteer communities have Get Out The Vote efforts underway across major battleground states, partnering with other Black-led organizations on the ground to ensure all voters make their votes count and voices heard.
