Dancing With The Stars Season 33 Week 2 – Double Elimination Recap

Dancing With The Stars is an American dance competition series in which celebrities participate. They are paired with professional dancers. The pair receiving the lowest combined score by the judge’s points and the audience’s vote gets eliminated each week.

Dancing With The Stars is an American version of the British dance competition series Strictly Come Dancing. The series was renewed for a 33rd season, which premiered on  17th September 2024. The first week of Dancing With The Stars was a no-elimination week.

Hosts and Judges of Dancing With The Stars

Two co-hosts, Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribiero, have confirmed their return.  The three judges who have confirmed their return are Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough.

Week 2 Of Dancing With The Stars– A double elimination week

The second episode of Dancing With The Stars was aired on 24 September 2024 at 8 pm ET. The second week’s theme was Oscars Night.

Eric Roberts and Britt Steward 

They performed on “The Godfather Waltz” by Nino Rota and Carlo Savina from The Godfather film. The judges praised his performance, with Hough and Bruno pointing out few missteps.

Anna Delvey and Ezra Sosa

They performed a quickstep to “Suddenly I See”  by KT Tunstall from The Devil Wears Prada film. Bruno asked Anna to drop her personality and engage in the dance sequence. Carrie Ann urged her to take the competition seriously, while Derek said he wished for more energy from Anna in the dance.

Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber

The duo performed a tango on “A Little Part Never Killed Nobody(All We Got)” by Fergie, Q-Tip, and GoonRock from the movie The Great Gatsby. Their performance was met with positive reviews by the judges.

Danny Amendola And Witney Carson

The pair performed a stunning jive to “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins from Top Gun. Carrie Ann complimented Amendola on his improvement from last week, while Derek reminded him to watch his arms during his dance performances.

Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong

They performed a stunning rumba on “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish from the film Barbie. Bruno described the sequence as “Brilliant,” while Carrie Ann said the actress can go far in the competition.

Reginald VelJohnson And Emma Slater

They danced to a paso doble on “Ode to Joy” by Ludwig Van Beethoven from Die Hard . They performed better than the last week with Carrie Ann complimenting him that he is taking gradual steps towards a perfect 10 score.

Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson

They danced on a sexy rumba to “Shallow” by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper from A Star Is Born film. The judges highly praised his performance with Carrie Ann saying that his movements were a treat to watch.

Stephen Nedoroscik And Rylee Arnold

They performed on a stunning paso doble on “Superman – Main Theme.” by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra from the superhero film. Carrie Ann praised the performance by calling it “golden.” Derek praised the sequence but advised him to work on his form.

Phaedra Parks And Val Chmerkovskiy

They danced on a foxtrot to “And I Am Telling You I am Not Going” by Jennifer Hudson from the film Dreamgirls. The judges praised the sequence, and Derek described it as a pretty experience. Bruno complimented Phaedra by saying “This dream girl is here to stay.”

Tori Spelling And Pasha Pashkov

The pair performed a rumba to “This Is Me” by Keala Settle from The Greatest Showman film. Carrie Ann welcomed Tori into the competition formally after this performance, while Derek said that Tori was immersed in the dance and that a few mistakes could have been avoided.

Dwight Howard And Daniella Karagach

They presented a foxtrot to “City Of Stars” by Ryan Gosling from La La Land film. Carrie Ann complimented the pair that their performance was gorgeous. Bruno praised the dance but advised him to improve his footwork.

Brooks Nader And Gleb Savchencko

The duo danced a quickstep to “9 to 5” song  by Dolly Parton. Bruno noted that they performed the quickstep in its original quality with Carrie Ann remarking that she tends to rush through some moments.

Ilona Maher And Alan Bersten

The pair performed a stunning salsa on “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes from Dirty Dancing. Carrie Ann was impressed by the femininity of the dance with Bruno complimenting her gorgeous figure.

Who got eliminated in Dancing With The Stars week 2?

 Anna Delvey and Ezra Sosa were eliminated. They performed a quickstep on “Suddenly I See”  by KT Tunstall from The Devil Wears Prada, earning 17 points with a total of 35 points. Their performance was met with grave reviews by the judges, who remarked that “Anna” was too into her personality and did not take the competition seriously. 

The other duo that was eliminated were Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov. Unlike Delvey, who didn’t want to compete, Spelling took the competition seriously and wished to stay. They performed on  “This Is Me” by Keala Settle and The Greatest Showman Ensemble, earning 19 points with a total of 36 points.
Dancing With The Stars will return for its third week on October 8 and 9.
