Shae is in a Relationship with Chris
The story of Nightmare in the Desert (2024) starts when Shae is shown going into the California Deserts as part of a holiday with her current fiancee Chris. In the process of exploring the desert, they met Larry. Now, Larry is shown as the companion of Shaes’ father. The process of meeting Larry with Chirs didn’t go very well because Larry was uncomfortable as he wasn’t much aware of Chris. Larry tries to interrogate Shae about her plan with Chris and this moment is shown as if Larry has some sort of discomfort with Chris.
She wanted to sell the house and hence she confessed about it to Larry. But, Larry wasn’t very convinced of the idea and hence he tries to change the mind of Shae. He tried making Shae understand that she shouldn’t sell the house because a lot of memories have been enacted with her house. However, Shae is convinced about selling the house and hence she tries to convince and interrogate Larry about her opinion and it was well supported by Chris.

The plot takes us to the past where it is seen that Shae has a very bad past with her ex-boyfriend Burke. The past shows that Burke was unbelievably obsessed with Shae and he wanted to have her anyway. Soon, Burke was seen as aware of the relationship between Shae and Chris, and listening to this built up a sense of jealousy among the life of Burke he was seen as frustrated and was looking for the chance to attack on Chris and have Shae forever.
Why does Burke attack on Chris?
Burke got even more frustrated and angry when he learned that Chris was about to propose to Shae while checking. And, in this process, he was about to propose to her for the marriage and this frustrated Burke a lot and hence he planned the attack. Chris and Shae had Raphael with them. Then, as Burke confronted Chris the heated argument soon turned into a fight because Chris was already built up with a lot of anger because he was aware of the past of Shae. In the fight, Chris’ legs slipped away and he fell down the hill. Burke was trying to show it was an accident and confronted Raphael about the incident.
Lucky to Chris he was soon found by Larry. Larry did all the recovery work and gave him a car to drive to Shae. And, Chris was very angry and was riding the car towards Shae. On the other hand, by looking at the ring on the finger of Raphael, Shae doubts Chris about cheating but Raphael clears the doubt by directly confronting Shae. The confrontation cleared the doubt, but Burke was again here to attack Shae and this time he wanted to kill Shae luckily as Burke was trying to kill Shae, Chris came in the car which was given by Larry. And, then he saved Shae and the later scene showed Burke out of the focus. Hence, it is difficult to predict the death of Burke because he wasn’t shown dead anywhere. And, finally, Shae accepted Chris’ proposal for marriage.
