For Jobs Day this month, Joint Center Workforce Policy Senior Policy Analyst Brian Kennedy shared three graphs explaining what the latest numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics mean for Black workers.

Kennedy found that July saw a slight rebound in the Black unemployment rate after increasing in May and June to 5.8 percent.

The unemployment rate for both Black women and men decreased, and the number of Black workers increased by 94,000, an increase in the number of employed Black workers for the first time since March.
