Summary: The African Union (AU) continues to lose its way, most recently serving French neocolonial interests in Chad and Mali by endorsing military coups in those countries.

Then on July 22 the AU, the 55 African nations organization, granted Israel observer status much to the dismay of several African countries who reject Israel’s brutal bombardment of Palestinians and the occupation. Powerful South Africa has demanded an immediate explanation by the man responsible for the unilateral decision to seat Israel, chair of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, who’s regraded by many as a French stooge.

Botswana, in an official statement says, “Henceforth, the Government of Botswana dissociates itself from the decision to grant AU observer status to the State of Israel.”
