Ugandan dictator Gen. Yoweri Museveni is finally showing his true colors, with his recent suggestion that his son Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba will succeed him.

He couched it in terms of “descendants” of his and colleagues who seized power by the barrel of the gun in 1986.

In his State of the Nation Address, Gen. Museveni declared, “I have been discussing with my children, who are now senior adults, the timeliness of creating the DRA—-the Descendants’ Resistance Army—to take forward the work of the original NRA of their parents”.

The National Resistance Army (NRA) is the army Museveni has led since the 1980s.

On the surface, this “succession plan” seems innocuous.

However, when one delves deeper, one is struck by the Machiavellian sleight of hand Gen. Museveni is using in order to hoodwink the public. That’s because the true NRA fighters and their descendants have mostly been forgotten or ignored by the official record. In this sense, we are reminded of the story of Claudette Colvin: when she was 15, she refused to move to the back of the bus and give up her seat to a white person in Montgomery, Alabama. This was nine months before Rosa Parks did the very same thing. Yet Rosa Parks is hailed as a symbol of civil rights and passive resistance against injustice while poor Claudette Colvin is only remembered for having been forgotten.

This shows that before the real story, there’s always a preface.

The NRA’s preface includes the backstory of how of some of the NRA originals were said to have been killed by Gen. Museveni himself.

One case involves a Lt. Sam Magara, the second commander of the NRA. He was murdered in 1983. At that time the NRA was fighting the Uganda National Liberation Army (NRA) the national army under President Milton Obote. Magara was reportedly betrayed to the UNLA by Museveni in order to eliminate him as a threat to his supremacy as commander of their guerrilla army in the bush. One of the people captured said Magara was sent to Kampala by Museveni and only Museveni could have known the location of his whereabouts in the capital.

Another popular NRA commander killed was Lt. Sam Katabarwa.

Many other NRA stalwarts have died mysteriously. Those in the political wing, the National Resistance Movement (NRM), also died. Gen. Museveni is now leading us to believe that they died so their children could take over?

No, the real reason for Gen. Museveni’s preference for this so-called DRA is because this whole group is actually singular: it is the Descendant Resistance Army. In this case the Descendent is one individual, Gen. Museveni’s son, Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, commander of the brutal Special Forces Command (SFC) and Uganda’s junior dictator.

The DRA is actually a Trojan horse concealing the Muhoozi Project, which has been a long-term plan by the senior dictator Museveni to pave the way for his son. By saying the descendants of the NRA must succeed their parents Museveni is simply saying Uganda’s senior dictator will be succeeded by the junior dictator.

It was telling too that Gen. Museveni praised one of his so called DRA, Ms. Irene Kaggwa, who heads Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) and who, according to Gen. Museveni, is doing a “commendable job”.

Haitian dictator Francois Duvalier, a.k.a “Papa Doc,” ruled from 1957 to 1971 when he died. His son,

seated, Jean-Claude Duvalier, a.k.a. “Baby Doc,” succeded him and ruled until 1986 when he was overthrown.

UCC infamously wrote to Alphabet Inc., the parent of Google, asking it to shut down at least 14 social media accounts broadcasting Bobi Wine’s campaign rallies during the presidential elections. When such a ludicrous request was rejected, Gen. Museveni launched cyber-attacks on Kyagulanyi’s accounts that saw three of them, Map Media, Ghetto Media, and Ekyooto International hacked, with the hackers stating that the move was intended to “protect the image of Uganda.”

As you can see, the DRA salvo of attacks on the people of Uganda is public knowledge. When Gen. Muhoozi—the “Dauphin” as Capt. Mike Mukula called him, according to WikiLeaks—is installed in statehouse, the second phase leading to an Armageddon-like showdown would’ve been started.

This is when the DRA will variously stand for the Dastardly or Deadly Resistance Army, thereby spelling a bloody new chapter in this Museveni wrought nightmare.
