NY Fashion Week to Sponsor Black Fashion Designer Claude Kameni

Los Angeles based designer, Claude Kameni of Lavie by CK, is the first African-American designer to be sponsored by NYFW/IMG in this September’s 2020 Fashion Week.

NYFW will showcase Kameni’s fashion presentation digitally to their 6.6 million subscribers globally on September 15th, 7 pm EST. Makeup up will be done by celeb MUA @kilprity.

The makeup company is Black-owned cruelty-free brand Coloured Raine Cosmetics.

Some of Kameni’s clients are: Regina Hall, Halima, Eva Marcelle, Iman, Mariah Carey, Issa Raye, Nicki Minaj, and Fantasia.

Lavie by CK has made waves as a Black designer in just the past year.

Recently, Amanda Seales, host of the BET Awards, wore an incredible custom Lavie by CK gown. Claude’s pieces have also been seen on top celebrities such as Tracee Ellis Ross and Janet Jackson. Lavie by CK was just named by WWD as one of the most influential Black designer to watch this year.

Lavie By CK founder Claude Kameni was raised in Cameroon where her passion for fashion was cultivated. As a child she was extremely creative with clothing and art. After relocating to the United States, she was blessed to have the opportunity to mold and enhance her skills. Her personal dedication rubs off in her creations and the smiles they create.
