On Tuesday, September 8, there will be a press conference led by New York Assemblymember David Weprin to demand that New York City give mom-and-pop owned restaurants a fighting chance by permitting “limited capacity indoor dining.”

With the exception of New York City, restaurants throughout the state embraced the Governor’s plan of “limited capacity indoor dining.”

If one crosses the Queens-Nassau County border, restaurants are permitted to do limited capacity indoor dining, along with outdoor dining.

As a result, mom-and-pop owned restaurants in New York City, who have been serving their communities for many years, are suffering and are at serious financial risk.

Other participants in the press conference will include:

  • Andrew Rigie – Executive Director – NYC Hospitality Alliance
  • Thomas Grech – President & CEO – Queens Chamber of Commerce
  • Harpreet Singh Toor – Community Organizer

The press conference will start at 12 pm at Atlantic Diner – 111-16 Atlantic Ave, South Richmond Hill
