[CUNY Black Male Initiative Conference]
Activist Shaun King and hip-hop artist and activist Talib Kweli will be keynote speakers at the Fourteenth Annual CUNY Black Male Initiative Conference—Restorative Justice: We are All Justice Involved— on Tuesday October 1 from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Borough of Manhattan Community College.

Activist Shaun King and hip-hop artist and activist Talib Kweli will be keynote speakers at the Fourteenth Annual CUNY Black Male Initiative Conference—Restorative Justice: We are All Justice Involved— Tuesday October 1 from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC/CUNY), 199 Chambers Street in Manhattan.
King will be speaking during the morning session beginning at 10:15 a.m. while Kweli is scheduled to speak at 2 p.m.
The overall theme of the conference will focus on improving cultural sensitivity and engaging the lens of universal precautions to more deeply support all students.
Morning conference panels will discuss the historical context of issues facing the re-entry community and higher education transitioning strategies for all ages. Afternoon panels will discuss how advocacy can be transformed into action for college communities who experience justice involvement or are justice involved adjacent.
