The President of U.S.-based Constituency for Africa (CFA) Melvin Foote and the former President of Benin, Nicephore Soglo, today at the launching of the “Pan-African Slave Route Remembrance Project”.
The program included cultural presentations, speeches from President Soglo, the Vice President of Côte d’Ivoire, and other senior dignitaries, the unveiling of the Slave Route Remembrance Memorial, and a highly emotional “Door of Return” ceremony for visiting Diaspora representatives including a delegation from the United States.
