The Sacramento Taco chain “Chando’s Tacos” was found closed without any warning or specified reason on Tuesday. The famous Mexican taco food outlet has been closed temporarily by its owner without much explanation of the issue. The owner, Lisandro Chando Madrigal, clarified that some of his food outlets in the capital region will remain closed temporarily. Moreover, he is available at his West Sacramento offices, where this information was conveyed. According to him, the food outlets in the capital region are undergoing an addition of something new and exclusive. However, he has not shared any details about the surprise for customers and the opening dates of the chain.
Websites and social media handles deactivated by Chando’s Tacos.
According to the Sacramento Bee, Lisandro Chando Madrigal has thanked his customers for their constant support throughout his journey. Moreover, his Google website for the food chain was deactivated, as it was inaccessible to the customers. Apart from that, he has also deleted his social media accounts, which caused unrest among the customers. For anyone who witnesses such incidents in a single day, they would think that the restaurant would have been closed.
Chando’s Tacos is primarily operated in three locations: North Sacramento, West Sacramento, and the Elder Creek Neighborhood, known for its exclusive flavors. Additionally, it owns a food truck, which shows its popularity in the city. The owner has attempted to make his services available across the city, for easy access to his ‘Mexican-cuisine tacos’. Moreover, the restaurant was originally based in North Sacramento, which continued to expand into the rest of the city.

Possible Reason for the Closure of Chando’s Tacos
According to the records, Chando’s Tacos has been facing issues with its locations in the capital region for a long time. In 2023, several food chains shut down, including Elk Grove, Citrus Heights, and Chando’s Cantina, for unknown reasons. As mentioned, the food outlet has been experiencing issues with its plans to open new restaurants in the capital regions. This could be a possible reason for the current closure: to focus on this issue first.
In February, Chando’s Cantina announced to the public that they are reconstructing the restaurant unit, Salomon’s. This restaurant unit was located at 730 K St. near Downtown Commons, which will be replaced by Chando’s. Moreover, the Chando’s Cantino restaurant website was active on Tuesday, indicating that it is temporarily closed, not permanently. However, the owner has not updated the opening time on his website, just as in his interview.
Furthermore, it has planned to open a Parkside Bar on K Street in downtown Sacramento, as mentioned above. This bar and food outlet will serve the famous dishes, which are offered on Chando’s Tacos’ menu, alongside its main attraction. According to the Sacramento Bee, this bar cum restaurant will be opening in September, by the owner of this successful food chain.
A press conference will be conducted with Lisandro Chando Madrigal
According to CBS News, the food chain “Chando’s Taco” was popular enough to have outlets throughout the Sacramento region. Lisandro Chando Madrigal was also featured on an episode of the popular cooking TV Show, ‘Chopped’ in 2021. However, it looks like he is going through a rough phase, as his new openings are creating several issues. Additionally, Madrigal has agreed to appear in a press conference at 9 am on Monday to discuss the ongoing incidents.
Apart from this, Chando’s Taco opened in a new location, which crossed the boundaries of the Sacramento region. The restaurant was opened in Georgia due to its popularity, but it is now closed for unknown reasons.
