A 69-year-old man has been arrested on charges of second-degree murder of a man with whom his wife had an affair. According to the sources, this incident happened in Miami, where a man’s wife was cheating on him for 5 years. He allegedly killed that man while he was at the flea market in Miami with bullets. Moreover, this incident happened on July 12, which escalated after the 69-year-old lost his temper. He is accused of shooting the man in the middle of the Northside Shopping Center after his wife didn’t discontinue the affair. However, it looked more like an action that someone does after years of tolerance and pain.
What happened at Miami Market?
Omar Rene Aguila has allegedly killed the victim of this attack because of jealousy and broken trust in his marriage. According to the recorded statements, his wife was having an affair with the victim of the attack for over 5 years. Moreover, Omar realised it in April 2024, which caused mistrust in the husband-wife relationship, as his wife was deceiving him. However, he still agreed to stay with her if she could end the relationship with that guy then and there. All was going well until the same guy came to the doorstep of Omar Rene Aguila, probably on July 10. This one confrontation escalated things, as both men were standing against each other for the lady. Furthermore, the matter became sophisticated, and Omar shot the guy dead several times at the Flea Market on July 12.
According to the statements and the CCTV footage, the victim was found in the market when Aguila’s family arrived. The guy was dropping off some food for his friend, but on seeing the lady, he tried to approach her for a conversation. Afterwards, Aguila went to the victim’s car, showing his frustration with him having a conversation with his wife. They entered an argument on the subject, one for being a husband, and the other for being a lover. In this triangle, Aguila shot the guy dead for trying to get close to his wife. Omar was arrested, and the victim was taken to the hospital in an emergency due to wounds from the gunshots.

What were the statements of Omar Rene Aguila?
The victim was declared dead in the hospital, as he had been shot too many times to survive the attack. Moreover, Omar Rene Aguila insisted to the authorities that the attack was purely based on self-defence from the victim. According to him, that guy owned a gun and tried to attack him when he went to him to talk about the matter. However, his statements were found to be false when the CCTV footage showed that the victim never carried guns.
Furthermore, the police learned that Aguila was restricted from possessing any firearm, as he had once been convicted. It imposed a legal boundary on him possessing any weapon, and he is now under two charges. The first charge is for second-degree murder, and the second charge is for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Therefore, he has to appear for his murder trial on Monday, along with the charges for illegal possession of a gun. He is being held under observation in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center for the time being.
