Where She’s From: Tara Liggins was born and raised in Seattle, Washington.

"I definitely learned the value of hard work from my mother," she recalls. "There was always a certain level of expectation from her; my brother and I were expected to enroll in the advanced programs in school and score good grades and ultimately go to college. It is something I truly appreciate."

Liggins attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, which was very different from Seattle. "I enjoyed the experience. Most of my best friends to this day I met while I was in college," she adds.

Where She’s At: "I’m a beginner," she says, when it comes to modeling, "but I am a very fortunate because I am seemingly off to a good start."

Where She’s Heading: "I would be foolish to say I wanted to be anything less than at the top of my field a successful working Plus Size Model," she continues. "I also want to be a role model to real sized women; I would like to be an example that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and skin tones. Being beautiful is not about being a size 2, 6 or 16. It is about being the healthiest, happiest you."

"I am very proud of the agencies that I am with. I am excited to be represented by Dorothy Combs in Miami, Heffner in Seattle and PME Models," Liggins says, when asked about her professional work. "Also, I just had my first editorial shoot for Venus Diva magazine for their January Issue. Very Exciting!! This is only the beginning for me."

"There is no beauty without brains, period," the young model says, advising other aspirants. "Pretty girls are a dime a dozen, but a woman who can finesse her looks, wit and personality into the complete package is one step ahead of the masses."

So how does this young Taurus prepare to step out? "I couldn’t live without Miss Jessie Curly Meringue. I have naturally curly hair and nothing hydrates and holds my curls like Miss Jessie’s," she says.
