Lena was stunningly graceful and of course stylish!

Lena Horne passed away May 10 2010 at the age of 92 and her iconic life will live on. Horne was one of the best jazz singers, dancers and actress of her time. Not only did she have magic on stage but the courage to stand up for racial equality. Being African American, Lena was denied the right to perform in many all white acts but because of her beauty and light skin she was given many other privileges dark skin performers weren’t. Horne stood up for all African American people, rejecting roles that will put her race down or in mockery.

Pattie Labelle is a true Diva and for the past decades she has delivered gracious talent in singing, acting, cooking and of course innovative style. Ms. Labelle is known for her fierce gowns and fabulous hair and on the Wendy Williams show she appeared full of life and stunning as usual. I love how she calls her clothes drag and how she has no shame rocking her wigs. Pattie also went on saying that she and her old crew the Labelles were dressing crazy way before Gaga and many others. She loves Gaga and how she has fun with her clothes but it was done way long ago.

Just when I thought Eva and Lance were the perfect couple I hear bad news from the Wendy Show and several other media outlets. Eva the Diva and her hot fiance Lance broke it off. I know I’m late with this news but I was freaking disappointed but hey at least they ended it before it got super ugly. But was it really that bad to call everything off?

Zoe, the ex-underdog, is shining through Hollywood, with big time movies under her belt such as Star Trek and Avatar and anticipating ones like Takers and the Losers, paparazzi and the press are all over Zoe watching her every move.

I’m excited Monique won an Oscar for Supporting Actress in the Movie Precious. This diva came a long way in her career, starting with her stand up comedy gigs, to her character in the Parkers and now to her own late night TV show. I can’t wait to see what she does next!

Aretha Frankin is a music pioneer and has more soul than any train around. SInce the late 50’s her music captivated many, her inspiring and motivational songs anyone can relate to. Songs like Respect, You Make Me Feel and A Rose Is Still A Rose woman were just a few of her greatest hits. She has 18 Grammy Awards and was ranked #1 for  The Greatest Singers of All Times by Rolling Stone Magazine. Of course she did all of this with love, peace and style! Remember her infamous grey bow hat that had the whole America gasping? Diva!

The 2010 Grammy Awards were electrifying and definitely glamorous. There were more fashion go’s than no’s this year but please excuse some of most extreme fashionistas (Lady Gaga). Other than the clothes grabbing my attention the performances kept me dancing and sometimes tearing. Over all I think this year’s Grammy Awards gracefully out did themselves. Way to go!
