Mary J. is fearless when it come to style, she has rocked thigh-high boots and bustiers before I knew my bra size. One to wear what she wants, when she wants: gold hoops and furs coats, short hair styles or long dramatic curls, this diva pulls it off every time. I have to give her praise when it comes to her music as well. I remember as young teens, my sisters and I will sing all of her songs in the mirror wearing our mother’s fur coats, grandma costume jewelry and auntie’s stilettos. Trying so hard to be Mary, we had to have not only the look and voice we had to dance like her too. You couldn’t tell us we weren’t divas in the making, funny I still sing in the mirror, but this time I sing in my own wardrobe while remembering the memories I have with my sisters. Thanks Mary, you’re music and style will always be apart of me!
xoxo
