Los Angeles, Staples corner was the setting for this years Grammy award ceremony which was staged on Feb 11th—Mary J Blige was  triumphant this year, winning in three categories.

Her monster hit “Be without you, managed to take home awards for best female R&B vocal performance and best R&B song. Her album “Breakthrough took home the award for best R&B album. Be without you also peaked at #1 in the US R&B and Dance charts.

Blige also joined Ludacris onstage to perform their duet "Runaway Love."  John legend is still on a winning streak as he managed another Grammy award this year to add to his 3 that he scooped last year. The category that Legend secured this time around was for best male R&B vocal performance for “Heaven.

Ludacris also added to his tally of  wins with two awards this time. He won in the category of best rap album for “Release therapy and best rap song for “money maker, a song produced by Pharrell Williams. The Atlanta rapper had previously won a Grammy for Best Rap/Song Collaboration for “Yeah with Usher.

The Grammy’s would be weird if Beyonce’s name wasn’t called out to receive an award. The singer has already won five Grammy awards in the past for her first solo album “Dangerous in love. This time she walked away with an award for best contemporary R&B album for “B Day.

T I finally gets some awards. The Southern rapper won Grammy’s for Best Rap Solo Performance for "What You Know" and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration - "My Love" with Justin Timberlake. It seems like Southern Hip Hop has officially been certified with all the Hip Hop awards in this Grammy going to Southern rappers and Mary J Blige deservedly earning a seal of approval for her great work.
