Comment: You are right and thanks to know that there still exist black people who do not buy into the Western propaganda. I really hope and pray the Spirit of Ancestors that Mugabe prevails.... That is the thing to do when we have as opponents Western puppets and proxies who want to help colonize again our continents in the name of fake and empty concepts like "democracy," "equality" and "justice." These Africans who do not understand the game that Europeans are playing on us are deluded....

Comment: I will not curse or abuse you like the other writers, which is also in poor taste, just like the article was in poor taste.
I do have a question. Would you tolerate an American president for 28 years? Even George Washington, who was also a Liberator and helped to throw out Birtish colonials like Mugabe was in Zimbabwe in throwing out Ian Smith the British colonial stooge...Even Washington was president for 2 terms only. So why would you be so cruel to wish Mugabe eternally on your fellow humanbeings in Zimbabwe. Shame on you. I am sure you cannot even wait for George Bush to leave after 8 years and he destroyed America's economy and invaded Iraq and destroyed so many lives there.

Comment: I am a Black zimbabwean and utterly disgusted by this drivel coming from people lke you. Do you know how many of my relatives have died of hunger, disease and murdered by your Lucifer paymaster Robert Mugabe. It is idiots like yourself who have no clue as to what's happening in Zimbabwe who should stay out of Zimbabwe. The results being circulated are from polling stations directly and Mugabe has them too but wants to do what he has done with previous ones: wipe his posterior with them

Comment: It's misinformed individuals like who who have contributed to the decline of our great country to a basket case. The point is Clay & Company: Mugabe has failed as our leader & he just refuses to accept that the majority of Zimbabweans do not like him any more. He doe not address the issues raised by the ordinary man like high inflation (which he is directly responsible for through his Mugabenomics), corruption (which has allowed to florish as part of patronage system),

Subject: ZANU-PF .. Vote Rigging
Comment: Leaked documents have revealed the Government ordered 9 million ballot papers - even though only 5.9 Million people are eligible to vote. The opposition also claims electoral rolls have included hundreds of people who are dead. Former premier Ian Smith is still down to vote despite dying last year. One can only assume he will vote ZANU-PF. Ex-Law and Order Minister Desmond Lardner-Burke, who died nearly 30 years ago, is also listed to vote. His skeleton intends to vote ZANU-PF

Comment: I am a zimbabwean writing from Zimbabwe itself. Whilst Mugabe's stance against the West (whites) makes him the envy and friend of our Black brothers abroad, this should not cloud your judgment of current events. We have always doubted Mugabe's democratic credentials and the actions of the MDC are meant to prevent rigging by Mugabe. Their (MDC) announcements are based on actual vote tallies posted outside polling booths on early Sunday morning a day after voting ended.

Subject: The Zimbabwe Situation
Comment: I found your article offensive as a Zimbabwean. It is very shallow of you to think that the situation is only between the West and Mugabe. Mugabe has used the Zimbabwean people as his stepping stool to make a point to the west and up to now kills anyone who objects to his policies and expresses discomfort with the economic, political or increasing social unrest in Zimbabwe. Your reporter who is obviously not Zimbabwean follows this as a race issue where the west is here to mess up a black people.

And would you note that amongst the Media teams banned from Zimbabwe are the Black etv South African tv channel and the Black owned South African Mail and Guardian. Let alone that the Predominantly Black South African Trade Union Movement COSATU is banned

[Zimbabwe: Election Update]

The eight year Western-led campaign to overthrow the leadership of Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe and the ZANU-PF Party is quickly escalating.

Western media, in particular CNN and the BBC, are banned from reporting in Zimbabwe, but have nevertheless acted as conduits for disinformation reports circulated by Western intelligence sources--CIA, MI5-- on the inability to hold a free and fair election in Zimbabwe. Before the voting for President took place on March 29th, the Western press had reported that the only way President Mugabe and ZANU-PF would win was by “electoral violence” or “rigging the voting.”

This “vote rigging” accusation was a pre-emptive strike against the anticipated victory of President Mugabe and ZANU-PF. It was intended to create the false perception in the minds of the western public that ZANU-PF lacks popular support from the masses of the Zimbabwean people and that any victory could only come from cheating.
The December 12th Movement delegation is in Zimbabwe as one of a large contingent of international observers to the voting. We went to several sites and spoke with polling officials as well as agents from all of the parties running for office. All found the election peaceful with no problems in people being able to cast their votes freely.

By the close of voting yesterday, the West, realizing that it could not play the “electoral violence” card, immediately moved to its next tactic, “vote rigging.” Prior to the March 29th voting, all parties agreed that there should be no premature claims of victory until all the votes were counted. Nevertheless, the Movement for Democratic Change, MDC declared victory only a few minutes after the polls closed when it was both physically and factually impossible to have actually known the results. By doing so the MDC laid another brick in the false “pre-emptive strike accusations.”

The logic being that when all the votes did finally come in, if MDC lost, it could only happen because the votes had been rigged. Be clear, the United States and Britain’s real contradiction with President Mugabe and ZANU-PF has everything to do with African people reclaiming their stolen land and nothing to do with a concern for democracy.

They have unsuccessfully tried to overthrow President Mugabe and ZANU-PF, through vicious economic sanctions, like the Zimbabwe Democracy and Economic Recovery Act of 2002, media demonization and the establishment and funding of opposition parties like the MDC.

The West believes that by “making the economy scream” they can create enough popular discontent in Zimbabwe to remove President Mugabe and ZANU-PF. This election was their last best shot. We urge those in the West to critically analyze Western media reports and to not believe the “vote rigging” hype.
